Overview[]
The Advisory Committee on the Application of Science and Technology for Development (ACAST) was estabished by the United Nations in 1963. It was comprised of experts in the various fields of science and technology and was created to provide science advice to CSTD and other UN bodies.
in 1993, it was replaced by the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD).
