Overview[edit | edit source]

The Anna Kournikova computer virus was authored by a Dutch programmer on February 11, 2001. It was designed to trick e-mail users into opening an e-mail message purportedly containing a picture of tennis player Anna Kournikova, while actually hiding a malicious program. If triggered, the program copies the address book of the Microsoft Outlook e-mail program and attempts to send itself to all the people listed there.
