Data storage[]

An array refers to

[c]onsecutive storage areas in memory that are identified by the same name. The elements (groups) within these storage areas are accessed through subscripts.[1]

Sensor[]

An array is

[a] layout of multiple solid-state detectors or optical sensors in cameras or scanning devices, such as in a linear array or a matrix array.[2]
