Automated information sharing (AIS) was authorized in the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (Pub. L. 114-113 Division N, Title I) and provides for machine-to-machine sharing of cyber threat indicators and defensive measures among the private sector, to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and through DHS, among federal agencies.
