Definition[edit | edit source]

A cell site (also referred to as a cell tower) is the antenna and communications equipment placed on a tower or other structure to serve a small geographical area, or cell.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Each cell provides capacity to serve expected demand. Within limits, increased demand can be met by increasing the number of cell sites.
