Overview[]

The Center for Animal Health Information and Analysis analyzes biosurveillance data on animal diseases by conducting all-source intelligence and issue assessment of threats, identification of the hazards posed by animal diseases, analysis of risk and modeling of the spread of an animal disease, and the issuance of recommendations to target surveillance resources to animal threats.

The center is organized into three teams: Global Intelligence and Forecasting focuses on improving animal health through intelligence and analysis; Risk Analysis identifies methods and approaches for estimating risks of animal disease outbreaks; and Spatial Epidemiology develops geospatial methods to collect and analyze data on farm animal locations and livestock concentration.
