Overview
The Consultative Panel on Public Information (CPPI) was created by the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 1, 1959, "to advise the Secretary-General on information policies and programmes in order to ensure maximum effectiveness at minimum cost." The CPPI was replaced with the Information Committee in 1978.
