Cyberspace Command and Control (C2C) is

[t]he employment of sensors such as distributed packet sniffers, system log files, protocol traps and queries, signature-based intrusion detection systems, user profile databases, system messages, threat databases and operator commands, to observe information flowing in networks and to determine the identity, rate of attacks, threats and targets of both friendly and hostile information objects in cyberspace.[1]
