Definition[edit | edit source]

An equipment lease is an agreement under which one party buys and owns the equipment and then rents the equipment to another party at a fixed monthly rate for a specified number of months. At the end of the lease, the renter may purchase the equipment for its fair market value (or a fixed or predetermined amount), continue leasing it, lease new equipment or return the equipment.
