Overview[]
This Order aims to speed up the process by which broadband access — both wireline and wireless — are deployed on federal lands, buildings and rights of way across the United States.
It requires that the U.S. Department of Transportation do the following:
- Implement a flexible set of best practices that can accommodate changes in broadband technology and minimize excavations consistent with competitive broadband deployment.
- Work with state and local governments to help them develop and implement best practices on establishing dig once requirements, effectively using private investment in state intelligent transportation infrastructure, and other related activities.
