Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI Policy for Protecting Privacy in the Information Sharing Environment
Overview[]
This policy states that the FBI will share terrorism information, as defined in section 1016 of the IRTPA (codified at 6 U.S.C.A §485), according to law, Executive Orders, Department of Justice and FBI policy, Office of the Director of National Intelligence Directives, mission justification, and the lawful authority of the requester and in a manner that protects the privacy, civil liberties, and other legal rights of U.S. people.
