Started in 2007, the Federal Agencies Digitization Guidelines Initiative is

a collaborative effort by the Library of Congress and other federal agencies to define common guidelines, methods, and practices for digitizing historical content. The initiative has formed working groups for still image digitization and audiovisual digitization.[1]
