U.S. copyright law Edit

Infringing articles are often manufactured overseas and then shipped into the United States for distribution. Under 17 U.S.C. §602, importation of infringing copies into the United States without permission of the copyright owner generally constitutes infringement of the distribution right. Although Section 602 specifies that unauthorized importation is "actionable under § 501," it does not mention criminal actions under Section 506.
