Overview[edit | edit source]

The Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (IN) is the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) intelligence office and IC component. It oversees programs to counter the threat from foreign acquisition of nuclear materiel, including policy development, field oversight, professional training, awareness training, analysis of counterintelligence (CI) threats, and investigations and operations support. DOE CI personnel have limited investigative authority to support the FBI in CI investigations and offensive CI operations.
