Data

A repository (also data repository) is a location for the secure storage of data, often for archival purposes.

Security

A repository is a database of active digital certificates for a certification authority system. The main business of the repository is to provide data that allows users to confirm the status of digital certificates for individuals and businesses that receive digitally signed messages. These message recipients are called relying parties. CAs post certificates and CRLs to repositories.
