Definition[]

Scripting language refers to the syntax and semantics for writing and interpreting scripts.

Use of scripting languages[]

These languages allow the Web page to display individualized content for each user. The content may be tailored to each user’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, previously visited websites, stored cookies, or other criteria. Therefore, it is possible for two people who simultaneously navigate to the same URL to view different content.
