Transmission is

[t]he act of transferring a sign, signal, writing, image, message, sound, data, or other form of intelligence (information) from one location to another by a wire, radio, electromagnetic, photo-electronic, or photo-optical system.[2]
[t]he sending of information from one place to another by radio, microwave, laser, or other non- connective methods, as well as by cable, wire, or other connective medium.[3]
